RushI remember being a small kid and becoming aware of Rush. I asked my older and much more musically inclined brother if it was a woman singing - he said "no." Needless to say I was perplexed and confused. Why would there be a band that sang heavy metal with the male lead sounding sounded like a woman and be popular? And where they popular? I knew they were but you have to admit that you didn't hear too much of them in general - but I knew they were there. I wasn't and still am not a heavy metal fan to the furthest extent and to be honest, I didn't really like them at all.. until I developed some taste.

Rush kicks ass.

They rock, they roll, and there's heavy feeling in their stuff. Songs that you don't really know what they're saying or what it all really means but it just moves you in such a way that only beautiful poetry mixed with hard hitting beats and wonderful melodies can. Hearing them is a rush to be sure. After watching the trailer of the new documentary it seemed as though a lot of those quandaries I had about them were not only pondered by myself. Their independent spirit and decisions to pass on working with controlling studios shows a band of true caliber and legacy.

Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage is released late June (now) to kick off their big tour which starts today! I expect this to be a good one.
